Business Analyst / Product Owner – Campus Management System (EdTech)

Overview:

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Business Analyst / Product Owner to lead the requirement gathering and functional definition of a comprehensive Campus/School/College Management System. This role involves working closely with academic institutions, including school and college staff, hostel administrators, parents, and students, to translate needs into well-documented product features. You will play a critical role in defining, prioritizing, and delivering modules such as Admission, Academics, Hostel, Fees, Transport, and Communication.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a transformative initiative in the EdTech domain, developing intuitive and efficient ERP modules for educational institutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Requirement Gathering & Analysis:

o Collaborate with key stakeholders from schools, colleges, hostel teams, students, and parents to gather detailed requirements.

o Conduct workshops, interviews, and surveys to extract user needs and pain points.

Documentation & Functional Design:

o Create clear documentation including functional specifications, business process workflows, user stories, and use cases.

o Develop wireframes/mockups to support design discussions and validate user experience.

Product Ownership & Backlog Management:

o Define and own the product backlog, continuously refining and prioritizing features based on impact and urgency.

o Break down epics into actionable user stories with acceptance criteria.

Module Definition & Oversight:

o Lead the design and definition of key ERP modules such as:

Team Collaboration & Delivery:

o Work closely with UI/UX designers, software developers, and QA teams to ensure timely and quality delivery of product features.

o Serve as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clarity of scope and objectives.

Testing & Acceptance:

o Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) by coordinating with stakeholders, validating deliverables, and ensuring all acceptance criteria are met.

o Gather and incorporate feedback for continuous product improvement.

Preferred Experience:

35 years of hands-on experience as a Business Analyst or Product Owner, ideally in the EdTech, School ERP, or Campus Management domains.

Strong exposure to end-to-end implementation of student lifecycle modules including admissions, academics, fees, examinations, and hostel/transportation.

Previous involvement in Agile/Scrum teams and working with cross-functional product development teams.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Proficient in requirement elicitation, BRD creation, workflow mapping, and wireframing.

Hands-on experience with tools such as:

o JIRA and Confluence (for backlog and documentation)

o Figma or Balsamiq (for UI wireframes)

o MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint for reporting and documentation)

Deep understanding of Agile methodologies and experience facilitating sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.

Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, results-driven environment with minimal supervision.

Educational Qualification:

Bachelors or Masters degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Education Technology.
