About the Role:
We are looking for a skilled Business Analyst with experience working on Microsoft Fabric or modern data platform projects. The ideal candi will have strong analytical and documentation skills, the ability to work closely with technical teams, and hands-on exposure to data, analytics, or BI initiatives within MS Fabric environments.
The role involves requirement gathering, functional analysis, documentation, and ensuring seamless coordination between business stakeholders and engineering teams
Key Responsibilities
Requirement Gathering & Analysis
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to understand objectives, data needs, and reporting requirements.
- Conduct workshops and discovery sessions to gather detailed business and functional requirements.
- Document BRDs, FRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows.
- Analyze business problems and translate them into MS Fabric-aligned technical requirements.
MS Fabric Project Support
- Understand core MS Fabric components and workflows, including:
- OneLake & Lakehouse architecture
- Data Factory pipelines
- Power BI semantic models & reporting
- Data engineering and analytics workloads
- Work with architects and engineers to ensure requirements map correctly to Fabric capabilities.
- Vali data flows, business rules, and reporting specifications built on MS Fabric.
- Support governance, data quality, and validation activities.
Communication & Coordination
- Act as a liaison between business teams and technical teams (Data Engineers, Power BI Developers, Architects, QA).
- Assist project managers in planning, prioritization, and sprint coordination.
- Communicate requirement changes, scope up , risks, and dependencies promptly.
- Facilitate Agile cere ies such as backlog grooming, sprint planning, and review meetings.
Documentation & Testing Support
- Prepare detailed documentation including data mapping sheets, workflow diagrams, and functional specs.
- Assist QA teams in building test scenarios and validating test results.
- Participate in UAT and coordinate with stakeholders for sign-off.
- Maintain traceability matrices for all business requirements.
Business Process Improvements
- Evaluate existing processes and identify gaps, dependencies, and areas for optimization.
- Recommend improvements aligned with MS Fabric best practices and data governance guidelines.
Ideal Candi Profile
- 5-7 years of experience as a Business Analyst.
- Experience working on MS Fabric, Azure Data Platform, or similar modern data projects.
- Good understanding of data flows, BI reporting, and cloud data platforms.
- Strong skills in documentation, requirement analysis, and stakeholder communication.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery models.
- Proficiency in tools like JIRA, Confluence, MS Excel, PowerPoint.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of Azure components like ADF, Synapse, ADLS, Databricks, etc.
- Exposure to Power BI (reports, dashboards, semantics).
- Experience in BFSI, Retail, or domain-specific analytics projects.
- Experience working with distributed and cross-functional teams
