Building Simulation Expert

Role Overview: You will be joining the ASSURE project, a collaboration between the Indian Institute for Human Settlements and Infosys, aimed at transforming India's real estate sector by promoting High Performance Buildings (HPBs) at scale. As a Building Simulation Expert, you will be responsible for conducting thermal, energy, daylighting, and glare analysis for large commercial building projects. Key Responsibilities: - Conduct daylight penetration, glare, and daylight availability analysis using LightStanza - Perform facade heat gain analysis using IES VE and DesignBuilder, and optimize shading strategies - Develop passive design strategies that balance daylighting and thermal comfort - Prepare simulation reports and presentations, collaborate with architects and engineers - Present findings and recommendations to stakeholders - Provide support to other IIHS activities including academics, research, training, and operations - Participate in all activities of Institution-building at IIHS - Collaborate effectively with internal teams and external individuals/organizations Qualifications Required: - A Master's degree with a focus on Building Energy Performance, Building Science, or similar - Experience working on building projects is an advantage - Expertise in daylighting sufficiency, glare, heat gain, and energy performance metrics - Proficiency in LightStanza, IES VE, or DesignBuilder - Ability to create and manipulate 3-D models in Sketchup, Rhino, or Revit - Understanding of green building rating systems and energy codes - Excellent report writing and graphic presentation skills - Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - Ability to script in Python and run batch simulations is an added advantage - Strong team working ability with good communication skills Additional Details: This position is based in Bengaluru and may involve travel to other locations in India.
