About the ASSURE (Accelerating Sustainable and Super-Efficient Real Estate) project The ASSURE project is a collaborative initiative between the Indian Institute for Human Settlements and Infosys, a global digital services and consulting company. The main objective of ASSURE is to revolutionize India's real estate sector, which is large, rapidly expanding, and has a significant carbon and energy footprint, by advocating for the widespread adoption of High Performance Buildings (HPBs). In the upcoming years, ASSURE plans to provide technical support to major developers in India for key projects covering 100 million square feet. This includes upskilling 12,000 individuals, backing 30 innovative ventures, introducing a platform for performance measurement and verification to encourage HPB adoption and financing, as well as collaborating with policymakers and financial decision-makers to establish favorable policies and financial structures for HPBs. Within the lighthouse projects, ASSURE collaborates closely with developer teams to set achievable performance objectives, guide technology and design selections, aid in implementation and operations, and navigate financial and procurement pathways to ensure the successful execution and functioning of HPBs. Job Description We are currently looking for a Building Simulation Expert proficient in conducting thermal, energy, daylighting, and glare analyses through annual simulations. As a part of this role, you will focus on analyzing and simulating large commercial building projects, creating or modifying simulations for further evaluations. This position offers the opportunity to collaborate with a team of expert consultants, attend project meetings, and gain insights into the process of design consulting. Activities and Tasks Key responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: - Performing daylight penetration, glare, and daylight availability assessments using LightStanza - Conducting facade heat gain analysis utilizing IES VE and DesignBuilder and refining shading strategies - Developing passive design strategies that strike a balance between daylighting and thermal comfort - Generating simulation reports and presentations, and collaborating with architects and engineers - Presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders - Extending support to various IIHS activities such as academics, research, training, and operations - Engaging in all aspects of Institution-building at IIHS, undertaking assigned tasks, and traveling for IIHS-related work within or outside the country as needed Structure and Reporting The Building Simulation Expert will report to the Project Director of ASSURE at IIHS. Effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders is essential for this role. Person Specification The ideal candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills: - A Master's degree focusing on Building Energy Performance, Building Science, or related fields, with substantial coursework on building performance - Prior experience in building projects is advantageous - Proficiency in assessing daylighting sufficiency, glare, heat gain, and energy performance metrics - Expertise in LightStanza, IES VE, or DesignBuilder - Ability to create and manipulate 3-D models in Sketchup, Rhino, or Revit (with Grasshopper) and translate simulation outcomes into actionable design strategies - Familiarity with green building rating systems and energy codes - Excellent report writing and graphic presentation abilities - Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word - Knowledge of scripting in python, running batch simulations, and additional skills will be beneficial - Strong teamwork and communication skills This position is exclusive, meaning that any other professional engagements that may pose a conflict of interest with IIHS cannot be pursued. Basic HVAC Design calculations starting from Heat load, Pump head, Static, Sizing and then design the concept of the plant, size up of pipe work, electrical and mechanical equipment, selection of Equipment (Chillers, Pumps, Cooling Tower & VFDs), ensure local codes are met and file if any paperwork required for local buildings like chilled water pipe, condense water pipe. As the HVAC Senior chiller plant room designer, you will use your in-depth expertise to prepare best design & offering to meet accurate design goals. Design of HVAC & chiller plant system and equipment including chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, piping etc. using AUTOCAD-2d and RIVET 3D. Collaborating with the MEP, HVAC clients, consultants, Sales and Delivery Teams to gather basic information and Design Plant room.
