Box Repair Specialist / Manager

As an STB Repair Specialist / Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the end-to-end repair and refurbishment of Set-Top Boxes (STBs), ensuring quality and adherence to turnaround time targets. Your key responsibilities will include: - Overseeing repair and refurbishment processes, ensuring quality and meeting turnaround time targets. - Performing component-level troubleshooting and repair of STB hardware such as PCBs, SMPS, tuners, AV, HDMI, and power modules. - Carrying out BGA rework, soldering, and utilizing advanced test and diagnostic tools for fault isolation. - Loading and validating STB firmware, conducting software-level debugging, and validation tests. - Performing root cause analysis (RCA) on failures and preparing detailed technical reports. - Collaborating with production, QA, and vendor teams to drive continuous improvement and reduce failure rates. - Developing and implementing repair SOPs, as well as training junior engineers/technicians on best practices. - Maintaining repair logs, identifying failure trends, and presenting periodic data to management and external clients. Your key skills and competencies should include: - Strong understanding of STB hardware architecture. - Proficiency in PCB repair, component testing, and power circuits. - Expertise in BGA rework, soldering, and using repair/validation tools. - Knowledge of firmware loading and STB software validation. - Analytical mindset with experience in RCA and troubleshooting. - Excellent communication and coordination skills. - Proficiency in report writing and presentation. Qualifications required for this role: - Diploma/Degree in Electronics, Electrical, Telecommunications Engineering, or equivalent. - 7-10 years of experience in electronics repair, including at least 3-5 years in STB repair or production leadership.,
