Blood Bank Technician

You will be responsible for technical operations related to blood collection, donor handling, component preparation, apheresis, testing, quality control, blood issue, and distribution. Your key responsibilities will include: - Performing phlebotomy using sterile techniques and donor-friendly approach - Screening donors according to Drugs and Cosmetics Act and NACO guidelines - Managing donor reactions or emergencies during collection - Conducting component separation such as RBC, Platelets, FFP, Cryoprecipitate - Operating apheresis machines for single donor platelet collection and therapeutic procedures - Maintaining aseptic conditions and calibrating equipment as required - Performing mandatory serological and NAT testing of collected units - Ensuring equipment validation, reagent control, and internal quality checks - Supporting NABH/ NABL documentation and audits - Cross matching and issuing blood/blood components to wards, OTs, and other healthcare facilities - Maintaining cold chain protocols and temperature logs for storage and transportation Additionally, you will need to adhere to compliance requirements by: - Completing all documentation as per SOPs and regulatory requirements - Maintaining donor and inventory records using hospital LIS/Blood Bank Management Software - Participating in external/internal audits and regulatory inspections - Ensuring adherence to Biomedical Waste Management and Infection Control guidelines Furthermore, you will be involved in community engagement and promotion by: - Assisting in planning and organizing blood donation camps in collaboration with the Hospital Marketing/CSR team - Educating the public on voluntary blood donation, donor eligibility, and safety - Coordinating with NGOs, colleges, corporate for blood camp mobilization Qualifications Required: - Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in a licensed blood center - At least 1 year of hands-on experience and training in Blood Component Separation and Apheresis Techniques and Procedures Please note that this is a permanent position and the work location is in-person.,
