BIW Fixture Design Engineer

As a Mechanical Design Engineer with 3-7 years of experience, your role will involve the following responsibilities: - Concept Design including designing clamps, pin units (stationary as well as retractable), slides, and dumps - Exposure to Welding Lines Process & Layout such as Spot Welding and ARC welding - Performing basic engineering calculations to verify design integrity - Creating 2D manufacturing drawings and Bill of Materials (BOM) - Having knowledge of tolerances and materials - Reading and understanding GD&T drawings - Designing BIW welding fixtures - Conducting Concept Design, 3D finish, 2D Layout & detailing - Ensuring quality checks as per customer standards - Documenting as per customer standards - Conducting Technical reviews with the customer - Coordinating with the Offshore Team Qualifications required for this role include: - B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Production, Automotive, or Design - Hands-on experience in designing & detailing spot welding/MIG welding fixtures (automated and manual) - Proficiency in CATIA V5 and UG NX - Design experience in BIW welding fixtures - Good knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes - Experience in working with OEMs like GM, VW, BMW, FORD, DAIMLER, etc. - Experience in conducting Technical Reviews with customers - Exposure to multiple CAD tools will be an added advantage - Experience in Teamcenter will be an added advantage Your good verbal and written communication skills will be essential for effective collaboration within the team and with customers.
