Responsibilities

• Design and integrate BIW parts, structural members, and mounting interfaces
• Develop functional automotive door assemblies with proper kinematics, sealing, and panel alignment
• Engineer surface transitions, split lines, panel gaps, and BIW mating conditions
• Define DFMA-driven BIW engineering surfaces suitable for microfactory manufacturing
• Incorporate crash safety considerations and industry-grade BIW reliability standards
• Collaborate closely with composites and manufacturing teams to integrate thermoplastic composite structures
• Solve real-world design challenges involving doors, panels, brackets, and structural joints
• Deliver lightweight, manufacturable, and robust BIW solutions for prototypes and production vehicles

Technical Skills Required

• Strong BIW design fundamentals
• Surface design & engineering
• Plastic and sheet-metal part design
• Door assembly design & dynamic motion understanding
• BIW integration, mounting, and structural mating
• DFMA principles
• Basics of composite materials (thermoplastics/composites)

Qualifications

• Minimum 

  2 years of experience

   in BIW design and integration
• B.Tech in Mechanical, Automotive, or related engineering fields (IIT/NIT/VIT preferred but not mandatory)
• Experience in EV startups or Formula Student is a strong plus
• Ability to design functional door systems from scratch
• Proficient with CAD tools and engineering surfaces
