Role Description

This full-time, on-site role is based at Algaven’s facilities in Erode. As a Biotechnologist, Botanist, or Food Technologist, the individual will oversee the cultivation and processing of spirulina, develop and optimize fermentation techniques, ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and perform microbiological analyses to maintain product quality. The role involves hands-on laboratory and fieldwork, collaboration with the production team, and contributing to research on innovative nutraceutical products. The candidate will also engage in quality control and support sustainable farming initiatives.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills to evaluate processes and product quality
• Proficient Laboratory Skills, including aseptic techniques and equipment handling
• Experience in fermentation processes and expertise in microbiology, particularly in spirulina or similar biological systems
• In-depth knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) guidelines and food safety standards
• Proactive problem-solving abilities and attention to detail in scientific research and production processes
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Food Technology, or a related field; candidates with relevant certifications are encouraged to apply
• Experience in working with nutraceuticals or botanical products is considered an advantage
