Biomedical Engineer

maintenance, calibration, and lifecycle management

Roles & Responsibilities:

• Undertake

  preventive and corrective maintenance

  of all medical and clinical equipment as per OEM standards and hospital schedules.
• Maintain

  critical equipment uptime at >90%

  and control downtime through timely servicing and monitoring.
• Analyze equipment performance data to assess

  utilization, efficiency, and departmental performance trends

  .
• Ensure proper documentation of repair, calibration, preventive maintenance, and compliance records.
  
• Coordinate with vendors and OEM service engineers for warranty, AMC, and critical equipment repairs.
  
• Maintain accurate inventory of

  critical spares, consumables, and maintenance tools

  ; plan procurement based on monthly breakdown data.
• Conduct

  user training programs

  for clinical and nursing teams to ensure proper handling and reduce equipment misuse or breakdowns.
• Participate in

  budgeting and procurement planning

  for new equipment acquisitions, upgrades, or replacements.
• Collaborate with Operations and Finance for

  capital asset planning

  and equipment life-cycle management.
• Participate in

  safety and quality audits

  , ensuring compliance with NABH, AERB, and other regulatory standards.
• Support Operations and Patient Care teams by minimizing equipment-related delays and disruptions, contributing to improved

  patient conversion and satisfaction

  .
• Assist in data-driven reporting, such as

  OP to IP conversions

  , equipment utilization rates, and feedback analysis.

Skills Required:

• In-depth knowledge of

  biomedical equipment

  , including ICU monitors, dialysis machines, ventilators, imaging devices, and anesthesia workstations.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for electrical, mechanical, and software components.
  
• Familiarity with

  NABH/NABL standards, ISO 13485, AERB guidelines

  , and hospital safety protocols.
• Excellent communication, vendor management, and documentation skills.
  
• Ability to conduct

  root cause analysis (RCA)

  and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
• Proficiency in MS Excel and maintenance management software (e.g., Asset Plus, Trackcare).
