Service Advisor – Role & ResponsibilitiesPosition Overview: A Service Advisor acts as the liaison between customers and the service department in an automotive or service-based environment. They are responsible for understanding customer needs, coordinating vehicle or product service work, and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:Customer Interaction: Greet customers, understand their service needs, and accurately document concerns and requests. Service Coordination: Schedule appointments, prepare job cards, and communicate service details to technicians. Estimate & Approval: Provide cost estimates for repairs/services, seek approvals, and explain work to be carried out. Status Updates: Keep customers informed about the status of their service, including delays or additional work required. Delivery & Feedback: Ensure timely vehicle/product delivery post-service and collect customer feedback. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of service requests, job cards, parts used, and billing. Cross-functional Coordination: Work closely with technicians, parts department, and billing team for seamless service delivery. Skills & Qualifications:Good communication and interpersonal skills Basic technical knowledge of vehicles or products being serviced Customer service orientation Time management and organizational skills Computer literacy (for service software or CRM systems) Prior experience in a similar role is preferred
