Job Description

The Barista is responsible for preparing and serving high-quality coffee, tea, and other beverages while ensuring excellent guest service and maintaining the hotel’s standards of cleanliness, presentation, and hospitality. The role requires skill in coffee preparation, product knowledge, and creating a welcoming café experience for guests.

Key Responsibilities:1. Beverage Preparation

  • Prepare and serve espresso-based drinks, brewed coffee, tea, and other specialty beverages to hotel standards.
  • Ensure consistent taste, presentation, and portion control.
  • Calibrate and operate coffee machines, grinders, and related equipment properly.

2. Guest Service

  • Greet guests courteously and take orders promptly.
  • Offer recommendations based on guest preferences and menu options.
  • Ensure guest satisfaction through attentive, friendly, and efficient service.
  • Handle guest complaints professionally and escalate when required.

3. Product Knowledge & Upselling

  • Maintain strong knowledge of all coffee beans, brewing methods, and beverage recipes.
  • Promote special beverages, pastries, or snacks to increase sales.
  • Stay updated on new menu items and seasonal offerings.

4. Hygiene & Safety

  • Follow all food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards as per hotel policy.
  • Clean and maintain work areas, counters, and equipment.
  • Adhere to all safety and HACCP regulations.

5. Cash Handling

  • Operate POS systems accurately.
  • Handle cash and credit transactions responsibly and balance the register at the end of the shift.

6. Teamwork

  • Coordinate with kitchen and service teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in inventory control and restocking of supplies.
  • Participate in daily briefings and training sessions as required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in hotel management or any other hospitality oriented qualification
  • Minimum 1–2 years of experience as a Barista in a café or 4/5-star hotel.
  • Basic knowledge of espresso machines, grinders, and brewing methods.
  • Good communication skills in English (Malayalam/Hindi preferred).
  • Guest-oriented with a pleasant personality.
  • Certification in Barista Training / Coffee Art is an added advantage.

  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple orders.

  • Team player with a positive attitude and grooming standards suitable for a four-star property.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ₹16,000.00 - ₹22,000.00 per month
