Full-Time Barista

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic full-time Barista to join our vibrant cafe team. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of specialty coffee, proficiency in operating and maintaining coffee equipment, excellent stock management skills, and exceptional customer service abilities. This role requires a strong passion for delivering high-quality beverages and creating a welcoming atmosphere for our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Specialty Coffee Preparation:

• Prepare a variety of specialty coffee drinks to the highest standards, including espresso-based beverages, pour-overs, and other brewing methods.
• Maintain knowledge of coffee origins, roast levels, and flavour profiles to advise customers on their coffee choices.

2. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:

• Operate espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and other coffee-related equipment efficiently and safely.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks to ensure all equipment is in good working order, including cleaning and descaling.

3. Stock Management:

• Monitor and manage coffee bean inventory, syrups, and other supplies to ensure adequate stock levels.
• Assist in ordering supplies and maintaining a clean and organised storage area.

4. Customer Service:

• Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers warmly, taking orders accurately, and serving beverages promptly.
• Engage with customers to understand their preferences and make recommendations to enhance their coffee experience.

5. Team Collaboration:

• Work collaboratively with other baristas and cafe staff to maintain a smooth service environment.
• Assist in training new staff members on coffee preparation and cafe procedures.

6. Cafe Environment:

• Maintain a clean and welcoming cafe environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Participate in cafe events and promotions to enhance customer engagement.

Experience

- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to work well under pressure.

- Basic math skills for handling cash and operating a point-of-sale system.
