Job Description

A Barista at ALDO CAFE is the face of our coffee experience. This role requires a perfect blend of technical expertise in coffee preparation and exceptional customer service to create a welcoming and memorable environment for every guest.

Core Responsibilities & Duties

1. Coffee & Beverage Mastery

  • Expert Preparation:

    Prepare and serve all hot and cold beverages (espresso drinks, drip coffee, teas, smoothies, etc.) consistently following established recipes and quality standards.
  • Espresso & Milk Art:

    Operate and maintain the espresso machine and grinders. Execute proper espresso extraction and master milk steaming/texturing for lattes and cappuccinos.
  • Custom Orders:

    Accurately take and fulfill custom drink orders, paying close attention to customer preferences regarding milk alternatives, sugar ratios, and specific preparations.
  • Product Knowledge:

    Maintain expert knowledge of our coffee beans, roasts, brewing methods, and menu items to confidently educate customers and offer recommendations.

2. Customer Service & Sales

  • Warm Welcome:

    Greet all customers promptly, enthusiastically, and with a friendly demeanor.
  • Order & POS Handling:

    Efficiently take customer orders, accurately input them into the Point of Sale (POS) system, and handle cash and credit/debit transactions with accuracy.
  • Problem Resolution:

    Address customer inquiries, concerns, or complaints promptly and professionally, escalating issues to the Shift Supervisor or Manager when necessary.
  • Upselling:

    Promote and suggest seasonal drinks, specials, and food items to enhance the customer experience and drive sales.

3. Cleanliness, Maintenance & Operations

  • Workspace Management:

    Maintain an immaculate and organized coffee bar, workstation, and customer seating areas at all times.
  • Equipment Care:

    Perform daily and weekly cleaning and preventative maintenance on all brewing equipment, including the espresso machine, grinders, and drip brewers.
  • Restocking & Inventory:

    Proactively monitor and replenish all supplies, including coffee beans, milk, syrups, pastries, paper goods, and retail merchandise.
  • Safety & Compliance:

    Adhere strictly to all health, sanitation, and safety guidelines for food handling, preparation, and equipment operation.

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience:
