Job Description

As a Banquet Operations Manager at Marriott International, you will be responsible for directing and motivating the team to provide high-quality service while ensuring financial and administrative responsibilities are managed effectively. Your role will involve planning supply needs, understanding event-related laws, and maximizing customer satisfaction. You will also be involved in managing inventories, controlling costs, and developing relationships with clients to drive business growth. Key Responsibilities: - Projecting supply needs for the department such as china, glass, silver, and buffet presentations - Applying knowledge of event-related laws and regulations - Managing Banquet operations to enhance the overall success of events - Adhering to and reinforcing standards, policies, and procedures - Maintaining sanitation levels and managing equipment - Controlling liquor costs and managing beverage inventory - Scheduling banquet service staff and maximizing profits - Developing lasting relationships with groups to retain business - Setting goals, delegating tasks, and conducting department meetings - Broadening knowledge of food and wine pairings to stay updated on event trends - Acting as a liaison to the kitchen staff and leading shifts during events - Setting a positive example for guest relations and handling guest feedback effectively - Empowering employees to deliver excellent customer service and ensuring service performance improvement - Communicating departmental emergency procedures and providing safety training to staff - Observing employee service behaviors, providing feedback, and leading discussions for improvement - Participating in corrective action plans and addressing service challenges for guest satisfaction Qualifications Required: - High school diploma or GED - 2 years of experience in event management, food and beverage, or related professional area At Marriott International, we value diversity and are committed to providing equal opportunities to all associates.
