To expand our evening coverage, we seek a proactive Resident Medical Officer (RMO) with a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine & Surgery (BAMS) background to support our Obstetrics & Gynaecology (OB-GYN) department.Role & Responsibilities
- Provide first-line clinical care to obstetric and gynaecology in-patients and walk-ins during evening shift (4 pm-11 pm), ensuring timely assessment, treatment, and escalation.
- Assist consultants in labour room, OT and emergency C-section preparation: pre-operative assessments, catheterisation, intravenous line insertion, and post-operative monitoring.
- Conduct regular rounds to record vitals, fetal heart rate, and progress notes in EMR, maintaining accurate and compliant documentation.
- Coordinate antenatal counselling, medication administration, and discharge instructions in alignment with hospital protocols and AYUSH guidelines where appropriate.
- Initiate emergency response for obstetric complications—PPH, eclampsia, foetal distress—stabilising patients until specialist arrival.
- Liaise with nursing staff, laboratory, radiology, and pharmacy to expedite investigations and ensure continuity of care.
Skills & Qualifications
Must-Have
- BAMS degree recognised by CCIM plus valid state medical registration.
- 1-3 years RMO or Junior Resident experience in obstetrics & gynaecology ward or maternity hospital.
- Sound knowledge of labour physiology, antenatal protocols, and postpartum management.
- Ability to perform basic procedures: IV cannulation, suturing, NVD assistance, neonatal resuscitation.
- Proficiency in EMR systems, clinical documentation, and medical terminology.
- Willingness to work fixed evening shift, weekends, and on-call rotation.
Preferred
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
- Exposure to laparoscopic OT assistance and ultrasound basics.
- Fluency in regional language(s) alongside English and Hindi.
