Role Description

Baker

You will work closely with the pastry and culinary teams, contributing to daily production as well as new product development.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and bake artisanal breads, including sourdoughs, along with cookies and select pastries
• Handle dough preparation, fermentation, shaping, baking, and finishing
• Follow standardized recipes while maintaining quality and consistency
• Ensure strict adherence to food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Assist in developing new products and seasonal offerings
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient work station

Qualifications

• Diploma or Degree in Bakery, Pastry Arts, Culinary Arts, or a related field
• OR proven hands-on professional experience in a bakery or artisanal kitchen (minimum 1–2 years)
• Strong expertise in bakery and baking techniques, with a focus on artisanal breads and sourdoughs
• Experience in preparing a range of baked goods including bread and cookies
• Ability to follow standardized recipes while maintaining quality and consistency
• Sound understanding of food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards
• Creativity and attention to detail in product presentation
• Good organizational skills and ability to manage time efficiently
• Experience in artisanal, premium, or fine-dining establishments is an added advantage
