Backend Engineer

As a skilled and passionate backend engineer, you will be joining the core team of one of our early-stage B2B/SaaS portfolio companies based in Bengaluru. Your role will be crucial in the design, development, and scaling of the backend infrastructure, ensuring top-notch reliability, security, and performance throughout the entire process. Your primary responsibilities will include implementing and maintaining backend systems that adhere to high standards of reliability, scalability, and performance. You will be tasked with building key platform features such as multi-tenancy, secure data handling, API integrations, webhooks, event-driven systems, and observability tools. It will also be essential for you to develop systems with a security-first approach, ensuring compliance with enterprise-grade standards and best practices. Furthermore, you will streamline workflows, deployments, and monitoring through automation to minimize manual intervention and enhance platform efficiency. Building monitoring and observability systems will be part of your duties to track platform health, troubleshoot issues, and maintain high uptime and performance levels. Researching emerging technologies, evaluating their potential, and implementing cutting-edge best practices to keep the platform up-to-date will also be a key aspect of your role. To qualify for this position, you should have 2-6 years of experience in backend development, specializing in languages such as Java, Go, or Python. A solid understanding of RESTful APIs, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures is essential. Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or GCP, as well as Docker and Kubernetes for application building and deployment, will be required. Knowledge of security best practices, handling sensitive data, testing strategies, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools will also be crucial. Your ability to navigate complex codebases and contribute to impactful system enhancements will be highly valued.
