🚀 Backend Developer Internship (Unpaid)

About the Role

Backend Developer Intern


Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the

    entire backend architecture

    and ensure its scalability, security, and performance.
  • Design, develop, and maintain backend APIs within a Next.js application.
  • Set up and manage databases, write efficient queries, and ensure data integrity.
  • Implement core features like authentication, user management, product listings, order processing, and payment integrations.
  • Create and manage cron jobs for scheduled tasks.
  • Implement caching, rate-limiting, and performance optimization strategies.
  • Integrate third-party services and APIs as needed.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve backend issues independently.


Requirements

  • Solid understanding of

    Node.js

    ,

    Express.js

    , or backend development in

    Next.js API routes

    .
  • Familiarity with

    MongoDB

    ,

    PostgreSQL

    , or other databases.
  • Good knowledge of REST APIs and JSON.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.
  • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies.


Good to Have

  • Understanding of authentication (JWT, OAuth).
