Job Title : C# | Azure Functions | PaaS (4–5 Years Experience) 🌍 Open to Freelancers from Anywhere in the World (Remote) About the Role: We are looking for a proactive Backend Developer with 4–5 years of experience in building and maintaining C# backend services on Azure Functions (PaaS). You will work on enhancing existing APIs, integrating new AI features, and collaborating with frontend teams consuming these APIs. This project is purely serverless/PaaS based with no VM or IaaS involvement. The ideal candidate will have strong experience with Azure PaaS, Cosmos DB, and be comfortable working on existing codebases, enhancing functionality, and integrating AI-driven features using OpenAI APIs. Familiarity with Python for AI-related tasks is a plus This is a fully remote freelance opportunity open to professionals worldwide. Key Responsibilities: Develop, maintain, and enhance C# backend APIs using Azure Functions. Work extensively with Cosmos DB, ensuring optimal data access patterns and performance. Use Azurite and Cosmos DB Emulator for efficient local development. Collaborate with frontend teams to ensure seamless API integration. Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or Azure DevOps. Maintain code quality, enforce best practices, and ensure security and scalability. Integrate OpenAI APIs to add AI-driven features into backend workflows (desirable). Utilize Python scripts for AI and automation tasks when needed (desirable). Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and proactively suggest improvements. Follow agile methodologies and take ownership of deliverables Required Skills & Experience: 4–5 years of backend development experience with C# and the .NET Core / .NET 6+ ecosystem. Strong hands-on experience with Azure Functions and Azure PaaS services. Expertise in working with Cosmos DB, including development and performance tuning. Practical experience with Azurite and Cosmos DB Emulator for local development. Proficiency in RESTful API design, implementation, and optimization. Good understanding of Git workflows and experience with CI/CD automation. Strong problem-solving and debugging skills. Ability to read and enhance existing codebases, adding new business and AI features. Familiarity with OpenAI APIs for AI-based integrations (desirable). Working knowledge of Python for data processing or AI tasks (desirable). Excellent communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote setup.
