Job Description

Key Responsibilities

1. Technical & Functional Knowledge

  • Handle processing and validation of financial instruments including equities, PMS, AIfs, REITs, InvTs, Debt securities, Mutual Fund units, and Derivatives.
  • Understanding and managing trade cycle operations from execution to the settlement (T+1, T+2)
  • Familiarity with market infrastructure institutions like NSDL, CDSL, CCIL.
  • Monitor and validate mutual fund NAVs and related operational activities.
  • Understand and apply risk metrics such as VaR, MTM, duration, and exposure limits.
  • Experienced in preparation and maintenance of Treasury MIS and regulatory reports.

2. Process & Compliance Orientation

  • Validate trades and manage exception handling processes to ensure smooth settlement.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with SEBI, RBI, and related FEMA guidelines.
  • Manage end-to-end KYC documentation and support audit processes.
  • Perform reconciliation of trades, cash flows, and portfolio holdings.

3. Systems & Automation Skills

  • Capable of advanced Excel tools (VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Macros, FV, IRR, XIRR, SUMIFS, INDEX MATCH, Offset etc. ) for analysis and reporting.
  • Leverage workflow automation tools to streamline operational processes.
  • Develop, maintain, and enhance MIS reports.

4. Behavioral & Soft Skills

  • Attention to Detail: Crucial for reconciling trades, validating settlements, and ensuring compliance with regulatory norms.
  • Risk Awareness: Understanding operational, counterparty, and compliance risks; proactively flagging anomalies or mismatches.
  • Process Discipline: Adherence to SOPs, audit trails, and documentation standards; essential for regulatory reporting and internal controls.
  • Accountability & Integrity: Handling sensitive financial data and transactions demands ethical conduct and ownership of outcomes.
  • Adaptability: Ability to manage evolving systems (e.g., TMS upgrades), regulatory changes, and cross-functional workflows.

5. Essential Soft Skills

  • Communication Skills: Clear and professional interaction with front office, auditors, custodians, and IT teams; often in writing (e.g., confirmations, MIS reports).
  • Team Collaboration: Coordinating with risk, compliance, and finance teams; supporting trade lifecycle and cash flow management.
  • Time Management: Managing cut-offs, end-of-day processes, and reporting deadlines under pressure.
  • Problem-Solving: Resolving breaks, mismatches, and system errors with a structured approach.
  • Tech Comfort & Learning Agility: Familiarity with Excel macros, TMS platforms, SWIFT, and reconciliation tools; willingness to upskill in automation and AI-led processes.
