Key Responsibilities:

Security Implementation & Compliance

Develop and enforce
database security policies
, including
access controls, encryption, and data privacy best practices
.
Implement
AWS security best practices
and ensure compliance with industry frameworks.
Conduct regular
security audits and vulnerability assessments
to mitigate risks associated with database access and data integrity.

Access & Identity Management

Manage
user accounts, roles, and permissions
in accordance with organizational security policies.
Integrate
Active Directory with AWS IAM
to streamline authentication and authorization for AWS RDS.
Regularly monitor
IAM roles and policies
, conducting audits to ensure security compliance.
Develop and maintain
least privilege access policies
for users and applications.

Incident Response & Monitoring

Develop and implement
incident response plans
for database security breaches, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal impact.
Implement
monitoring and alerting solutions
to proactively address security issues.

Architecture & Cloud Solutions

Design and implement
scalable, cost-effective, and efficient AWS cloud solutions
while ensuring security compliance.
Deploy solutions using
AWS services
such as
EC2, API Gateway, RDS, S3, EKS, Lambda, and Redshift
.
Automate infrastructure deployment using
Terraform and AWS CloudFormation
.
Optimize cloud performance, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Utilize tools such as
IAM, resource tagging, and cost management
to enforce
AWS governance policies
.

Collaboration & Documentation

Work with
cross-functional teams
to integrate security practices into the
database development lifecycle
.
Maintain
comprehensive documentation
of IAM policies, security procedures, and compliance requirements.
Conduct research and document best practices for
AWS security and governance
.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

6+ years of IT industry experience
.
3+ years of experience
with
AWS IAM and access management
.
3+ years of experience
in
database security
, specifically with
AWS RDS
.
Strong understanding of
AWS security best practices
and
compliance frameworks
.
Proficiency in
IAM policy writing
and
managing permissions
.
Experience with
Active Directory and federated identity management
.
Familiarity with
Amazon RDS security features
.
Strong knowledge of
database engines
such as
MySQL, PostgreSQL, or Oracle
.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications/Certifications:

AWS Certified Security Specialty
or
AWS Certified Database Specialty

Experience designing security solutions using
AWS native security tools
.
Strong understanding of
cloud governance and compliance policies

Education:

Bachelor s degree
