AVP - Markets Legal Global Contract Services Knowledge & Data Team

As an AVP - Markets Legal Global Contract Services Knowledge & Data Team member within the Markets Legal master agreement negotiation team in Pune, India, you will be part of the Knowledge & Data Team responsible for providing daily support to the broader Global Contract Services Team and internal stakeholders by: - Reviewing final agreements for completeness - Extracting relevant legal and business data points - Assisting with counterparty diligence and execution of master agreements - Managing management information - Storing legal documents in Barclays central document repository You will maintain controls to ensure accurate flow of data elements captured from trading documentation to downstream consumers, meet regulatory record retention requirements, and Chief Data Office critical data points. Additional duties include efficiently answering queries, data analysis & remediation, production of reporting, and ad hoc project work. To excel in this role, you should possess: - Experience with data management, analysis, and document management systems - Ability to navigate various IT systems used by the Legal function - Experience assisting with research, remediation, and ad hoc projects - Strong organization and communication skills - Willingness to work flexible hours - Competence in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint - A Bachelor's degree in Law (LL.B. or equivalent) preferred You may be evaluated on critical skills such as risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, strategic thinking, digital and technology, and job-specific technical skills relevant for success in this role. This role is based in Pune. In this position, your purpose will be to ensure operations comply with laws and regulations, managing legal and reputational risks. Your accountabilities will include: - Developing and implementing best practice legal strategies for risk management and compliance - Providing legal advice and support to the bank's country coverage teams - Representing the bank in legal proceedings - Creating and reviewing legal documents for compliance - Conducting legal research and analysis - Delivering training programs on legal and regulatory requirements - Pro-actively identifying and advising on applicable laws, rules, and regulations As an AVP, you are expected to advise, influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and ensure operational effectiveness.
