Automation Test Lead

As a QA Test Lead, you will play a crucial role in shaping the quality standards across engineering squads and ensuring that quality is a fundamental aspect of software development. Your responsibilities will include: - Defining and maintaining test quality standards across engineering squads to ensure consistent and confident releases. - Supervising Automation QAs/SDeTs and manual testers to ensure high-quality integration and end-to-end tests. - Collaborating with engineers, product managers, and delivery leads to embed quality thinking from the beginning of the development process. - Designing and overseeing test strategies that combine automation, exploratory testing, and regression coverage. - Driving the implementation and evolution of automated testing frameworks and integrating them into CI/CD pipelines. - Managing the structure and health of test suites and regression packs to keep them lean, relevant, and valuable. - Supporting squads in front-end, API, and end-to-end testing using tools like Playwright, Cypress, and other modern frameworks. - Facilitating BDD and 3-amigos sessions to clarify requirements and prevent misunderstandings. - Coaching engineers on understanding and owning quality without blocking their progress. - Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure proper testing of cross-squad functionality and integration. - Participating in the testing cycle by investigating issues, writing tests, supporting manual QAing, and approving changes. Qualifications required for this role include: - Strong background in quality assurance across automated and manual testing. - Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks like Cypress, Playwright, and API testing tools such as Postman and RestAssured. - Proficiency in writing automated tests in Typescript. - Deep understanding of software development workflows and how to integrate quality within them. - Comfortable with performance testing tools like K6 and JMeter. - Experience integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring pipeline quality. - Familiarity with facilitating BDD-style collaboration and 3-amigos sessions. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with engineers and product managers. - Inquisitive, pragmatic, and curious mindset that prioritizes impact, reliability, and continuous learning.
