AutoCAD Drafter/ Intern

We are offering an internship/full-time position for motivated individuals with AutoCAD drafting skills to work on structural drawings of transmission tower parts and other steel plate components for our manufacturing facility. The primary focus will be preparing 2D production-ready drawings for CNC laser cutting operations in our machine shop.

Interns will work under the guidance of experienced professionals in our design & engineering department, gaining hands-on exposure to structural drafting, manufacturing standards, and modern CNC cutting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate 2D AutoCAD drawings of structural transmission tower components and other steel plates.• Read and interpret structural dimension drawings from clients.• Create production-ready files optimized for CNC laser cutting, including nesting considerations.• Collaborate with the production team to ensure drawings meet manufacturing requirements.• Maintain drawing records and ensure revisions are updated in line with project needs.• Optional: Assist in BOM (Bill of Materials) preparation and basic quantity calculations for steel and concrete from BOQ.

Preferred Qualifications

• Students or recent graduates in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design Engineering, Civil Engineering, or related CAD-focused courses.• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD 2D drafting.• Good understanding of structural drawings and reading dimensions accurately.• Bonus (not required):o Experience with CNC laser or plasma cutting machines.o Understanding of manufacturing or shop floor operations.o Familiarity with nesting software.

Skills & Attributes

• Accuracy and attention to detail in technical drawings.• Basic knowledge of Microsoft Excel.• Time management and willingness to learn.
