Audit Manager

Role & responsibilities

Audit Planning and Execution:

Develop and implement the annual audit plan for mobile retail stores.

Conduct risk assessments to identify areas of high risk and prioritize audits accordingly.

Plan and perform operational, financial, and compliance audits for retail store locations.

Perform unannounced spot audits to detect fraud, theft, or operational lapses.

Handling a team of Auditors

Internal Controls & Compliance:

Evaluate the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls across store operations, including:

Sales processes

Cash handling and reconciliation

Inventory management and shrinkage control

Discounting, promotions, and refunds

Store-level procurement

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Reporting and Recommendations:

Prepare detailed audit reports with clear findings, root cause analysis, and practical recommendations.

Present audit results to senior management and follow up on the implementation of corrective actions.

Track and report on the status of audit issues and management action plans.

Team Management and Development:

Supervise and mentor junior auditors or outsourced audit teams.

Ensure audits are completed efficiently, within budget, and in compliance with audit standards.

Provide training and support to store teams on internal control best practices.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with finance, retail operations, compliance, and loss prevention teams to identify areas for process improvement.

Participate in investigations of fraud, theft, or other unethical behaviors at the store level.

Key Skills & Competencies:

Strong understanding of retail operations, preferably in the mobile device or electronics sector

Sound knowledge of internal audit standards, risk management, and internal control frameworks (e.g., COSO)

Excellent analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

High integrity, confidentiality, and attention to detail

Ability to travel to store locations

Proficiency in MS Excel, audit tools, and ERP systems
