Job Description

The role of Relationship Manager within Corporate and Investment Banking involves acquiring and developing a well-diversified portfolio within the IBG 4 segment. The primary goal is to generate revenue from various sources such as assets, trade, cash, treasury, and fees while maintaining an acceptable level of risk. It is essential for the Relationship Manager to adhere to the lending guidelines set by the bank to achieve these objectives effectively. Key responsibilities of the Relationship Manager include sourcing new asset relationships within the IBG 4 segment, ensuring a healthy mix of Net Interest Income and fees across the portfolio, and playing a key role in enhancing the branch's profitability. Monitoring the portfolio regularly to maintain delinquencies at a minimum level is crucial, along with implementing the IBG4 business strategy to increase market share and achieve targets. The Relationship Manager is also responsible for building the DBS brand value, expanding the network through marketing activities, and complying with the bank's processes and policies to ensure positive audit ratings. Additionally, they must actively engage in cross-selling various banking products, conducting proper due diligence for new asset relationships, and closely monitoring accounts to identify early warning signals and take appropriate actions. To be successful in this role, candidates should possess 3-5 years of overall sales experience, with at least 2 years in SME/Business Banking Lending. A proven track record in asset business within the SME/Business Banking segment, knowledge of competitors and marketplace, and familiarity with working capital finance are essential requirements. A Bachelor's degree in finance/economics/commerce or an MBA/CA is preferred. Core competencies required for this role include excellent communication, listening, sales, and negotiation skills. Technical competencies in working capital finance knowledge are also crucial for effective performance. The Relationship Manager will be expected to maintain strong working relationships with managers and direct reports.
