Job Description

In this role at Volvo Group, you will be at the forefront of shaping sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving global impact through next-gen technologies and collaborative teamwork. **Role Overview:** As a Buyer at Volvo Group, your primary responsibility will be to ensure the Quality, Delivery, Cost, Feature, Technology, Sustainability, and Risk Management (QDCFTSR) of the supplier base within your segments. You will play a crucial role in implementing the segment business plan by selecting the right suppliers and continuously monitoring and improving supplier performance. Your work will be guided by a commitment to excellence and adherence to established tools and methodologies. **Key Responsibilities:** - Early involvement during the project concept phase and support decisions on concept finalization required for sourcing in collaboration with key stakeholders - Align project and sourcing deadlines cross-functionally and update SAP ARIBA with complete project information - Organize kick-off meetings with cross-functional teams, gather RFQ requirements, and prepare RFQ packages - Drive the sourcing process, involving the cross-functional team, and lead the interface to suppliers - Forecast cost evolution/estimation for the scope of responsibility and ensure supplier selection aligns with project targets and timelines - Secure Cost Objective Achievement (COA), challenge, negotiate, and report changes post-contract signature - Ensure supplier readiness for production, including capacity and system updates, and mitigate risks in cooperation with the supplier and quality team - Own and drive continuous improvements and excellence in your area based on business needs and strategies **Qualifications Required:** - University degree in BE / B.Tech in Mechanical/Automobile/Industry Production with a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Fastener buyer in the automotive industry - Excellent decision-making skills with an ownership mindset - Continuous improvement and excellence mindset with strong communication skills - Strong analytical, prioritization, and negotiating skills - Good understanding of different manufacturing processes and best practice costing - Strong business acumen with a very good knowledge of project management - Excellent interpersonal and networking skills, positive and collaborative mindset - Proactiveness is a must We look forward to welcoming a proactive and dynamic individual like you to our team at Volvo Group.
