Job Description: Associate Professor, Clinical Psychology Location: Kothrud, Pune Reporting To: Head of School (HOS) / Head of Department (HOD) 1. Job Purpose The Associate Professor in Clinical Psychology will contribute to teaching, research, and service in the Department of Psychology. The role involves delivering high-quality education, fostering student development, engaging in scholarly research, and participating in academic and community-based activities aligned with the clinical discipline. 2. Key Responsibilities Academic Responsibilities Deliver lectures, practicals, and tutorials in Clinical Psychology as per the assigned workload. Assist in the development and periodic revision of curriculum aligned with current industry practices and regulatory guidelines. Set question papers, evaluate answer scripts, and support the examination process. Organize and participate in academic initiatives, including seminars, conferences, workshops, FDPs, and guest lectures. Support students in field work, internships, and case-based learning aligned with clinical practice. Guide students in dissertation, research projects, and psychological assessments. Research and Scholarly Development Conduct independent and collaborative research in clinical psychology and related areas. Publish research papers in peer-reviewed national and international journals. Write and support research proposals and grant applications. Mentor students in research writing and promote student-led publications and presentations. Strategic and Institutional Contribution Align academic activities with the strategic goals of the School of Psychology and MIT-WPU. Support the implementation of innovative pedagogical practices and mental health initiatives. Student Development and Mentorship Provide academic advising, psychological guidance, and career counselling to students. Support student well-being initiatives and participate in co-curricular and extra-curricular programs (e.g., NCC, counselling cells, student welfare). Operational Support Participate actively in the admission process, including counselling prospective students. Support events such as convocation, rural immersion, study tours, and internship supervision. Maintain comprehensive student records and track academic progress. Collaboration and Outreach Engage with clinical institutions, hospitals, and NGOs for internships, placements, and field exposure. Liaise with CIAP and Marketing teams to support admissions and institutional branding. Participate in forums such as the National Teachers Congress, Bharatiya Chatra Sansad, and other relevant academic bodies. 3. Qualification & Experience Essential Qualifications Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology. RCI License. Masters degree in Clinical Psychology or Applied Psychology with minimum 55% marks (or equivalent grade). Preferably NET/SET/SLET qualified as per UGC norms. Desirable Qualifications Minimum 05 years of relevant teaching or clinical experience. Industry/clinical practice experience will be considered an asset. 4. Attributes & Skills Strong command over written and spoken English. In-depth understanding of contemporary clinical practices, diagnostics, and psychological therapies. Excellent classroom management and student engagement skills. Proficient in counseling and mentoring students with empathy and discretion. Demonstrated commitment to ethical practice and academic integrity. 5.
