Kindly Apply in the below Link, to get a call back - https://forms.gle/ogqupeo5gxfiYpnP7 Job Purpose To ensure the effective functioning of laboratories through proper preparation, maintenance, supervision, documentation, and safety compliance, thereby supporting students and faculty in practical and academic requirements. Key Responsibilities 1. Strategic Responsibilities Improve lab setup and ensure continuous maintenance. Optimise laboratory resources for practical sessions and research activities. 2. Laboratory Preparation for Practicals Submit the requirements of chemicals, glassware, and labware to stores. Collect necessary materials from stores ahead of practical sessions. Ensure availability and functionality of chemicals, instruments, and equipment. Prepare reagents and standardize experimental procedures through demonstration. Maintain availability of LPG, water, and electricity for uninterrupted lab activities. Support faculty in smooth conduct of practical examinations. 3. Student Assistance & Supervision Ensure punctual student entry and proper seating as per lab arrangements. Confirm students carry necessary materials into the laboratory. Issue chemicals, glassware, instruments, and equipment to students. Assist in assembling and handling equipment or instruments. Support students with research projects. Monitor students to ensure adherence to standard experimental procedures. Record and report any breakages by students in the breakage register. 4. Laboratory Maintenance Maintain proper storage and arrangement of all lab items. Inventory control of chemicals, glassware, and labware. Keep detailed records of instrument maintenance (logbooks, SOPs, service books). Calibrate and ensure servicing of instruments as per schedules. Display and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) visibly. Ensure functional supply of gas, water, and electricity. Attend training related to instrument maintenance. Properly label all chemical containers. 5. Laboratory Documentation Maintain issue, stock, and breakage records of lab materials. Update dead stock and maintenance logs for equipment. Keep cleaning records and maintenance/breakdown logs. Maintain SOP files and logbooks for instruments. Keep updated indent books for chemical/labware issuance. Verify and audit lab stock regularly. Maintain documentation of laboratory communications and audits. Ensure accurate and up-to-date safety audit files. Handle any additional lab-related documentation as required. 6. Laboratory Safety Monitor functionality of gas pipelines, fire extinguishers, fume cupboards, and utility supplies. Guide students on safe handling of hazardous chemicals. Limit and store hazardous substances as per safety protocols. Educate students on the safe use of chemicals and lab equipment. 7. Miscellaneous Duties Assist in university programs, events, admission processes, student activities, and regulatory inspections. Participate in invigilation duties during theory examinations. 8. Departmental Library Documentation Maintain issue, stock, and utilisation records of library books. Perform additional duties as assigned related to library and departmental documentation.
