The Opportunity:
Role Proficiency:
Conducts root cause analysis and bug advocacy in Semiconductor Products; tracking activities to closure with very minimal supervision
Outcomes:
- Conducts validation and root cause analysis
- Isolate/ packetize the failures to correct components
- Attend customer meeting and communicate effectively on the requirements and results.
- Locate the product failures and report it in test repository and bug tracker
- Learn technology business domain system domain individually and as recommended by the project/account
- Complete the certifications for the role (like ISTQB UST GAMMA certifications)
- Execute test cases across the functionalities
Measures of Outcomes:
- Number of showstoppers and critical bugs found
- Adherence to schedule / timelines
- Number of defects post delivery
- Number of non-compliance issues
- Reduction of reoccurrence of known defects by SLA
- SLA in turnaround of production bugs
- Defined productivity standards for project
- Completion of all mandatory training requirements

Mentoring:
- Host classroom training sessions for the junior validation engineers
- Set FAST goals and provide feedback to FAST goals of mentees

- Should possess good bug advocacy skills
- Should have good report consolidation and presentation skills as well as diplomacy
- Should have automation scripting skills
- Should be able to do severity and priority identification of sightings raised
- Working with Windows OS flavours and installation
- Working with BIOS drivers and various display protocols

Ability to understand the technical stuffs on semiconductor domain. • Coordinate with client and understand the delivery milestones, based on which you must work out the execution requirements (Space, resource, tools and find out the solution if any blockade). • Should be capable to handle small / medium size of team. • Ready to work in the dynamic environment with mix of techno managerial role. • Test planning, Monitoring, and reporting with suitable Dashboard. • High level understanding of Platform HW/SW ingredients for post silicon. • Ability to understand Windows driver validation and executing test cases. • Experience in installation, configuring Microsoft Operating systems (Windows 7, 8, 10) • Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to analyze and debug issues. • 100% Adherence to the delivery schedule, Align with PM & AM strategy. • Knowledge of various subsystems in the PC. • Identify the gaps/ Opportunities on execution/ delivery and report to your program manager. • Reproduction of failures reported in required platform configurations & Defect management. • In-depth knowledge and Hands-on development /debug experience of system BIOS, UEFI framework and architecture, USB, Multimedia, Driver, Camera, Disk, Desktop, Power management, Flash Memory, memory Management, NAND. • Analyze the system Power states and Device states. • Must have knowledge in Test strategies. • Software testing concepts. • Basic knowledge in Python scripting language. • Need to attend the Client meeting and understand the requirement before testing. Skills • Able to find the valid bugs Use of tools like WinDBG, Debug, PoolMon, Performance monitor • Ability to establish strong leadership and educate team to understand and fulfil requirements. • Debug kernel installation/KD and capture trace. • Debug test failures and analyses the root cause. • Capturing crash dump and analyzing. • Ability to support the team with technical solutioning direction and mentorship. • Billing, Quality management, Time Management, Productivity improvement through suitable automation and analytical way.
