Job Description

Purpose/Objective


    The Junior Engineer - Production operates specialized machinery and optimizes production processes while adhering to technical specifications. They contribute to improving workflows, ensuring efficient use of materials and resources. The junior engineer is responsible for troubleshooting minor mechanical and electrical issues and supporting team members in resolving challenges. They collaborate in creating and maintaining technical documentation, track production metrics, and contribute to quality control, ensuring that processes comply with safety, operational, and product standards.

Key Responsibilities of Role


    Manufacturing Skills: Train and mentor operators in the use of specialized manufacturing equipment—such as CNC machines, presses, or molding machines, promoting adherence to technical specifications and industry best practices to ensure consistent, high-quality output. Champion continuous improvement initiatives across production lines by identifying systemic inefficiencies, leading cross-functional efforts to optimize workflows, and implementing process enhancements that drive measurable gains in throughput and quality. Establish and enforce robust material handling protocols for high-risk components, promoting a culture of safety and operational discipline, while influencing team adherence to advanced quality and compliance standards. Technical Literacy: Contribute to the development and standardization of complex technical documentation and engineering specifications, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and cross-functional operational excellence. Architect technical documentation frameworks that integrate real-time production data, driving clarity, traceability, and continuous improvement across engineering and manufacturing teams. Provide thought leadership in technical literacy by mentoring cross-functional teams, establishing best practices for documentation accuracy, and influencing enterprise-wide adoption of advanced technical reporting standards. Production Target Realization & Result Orientation: Develop and implement time management strategies and scheduling frameworks that optimize alignment between engineering processes and production targets, enhancing on-time delivery across manufacturing operations. Architect real-time production monitoring systems that track key performance indicators—such as machine utilization, assembly cycle times, and downtime—to proactively drive efficiency and support strategic decision-making. Provide thought leadership in production optimization by identifying systemic bottlenecks, leading cross-functional improvement initiatives, and institutionalizing best practices that minimize delays and elevate operational performance. Troubleshooting & Problem Resolution: Independently troubleshoot minor mechanical or electrical issues in machinery, such as misalignment in assembly stations or defects in automated equipment, ensuring that production is resumed quickly. Use diagnostic tools and follow established troubleshooting procedures to resolve equipment issues, ensuring minimal disruption to production and maintaining safety standards. Collaborate with the maintenance team to identify recurring issues with machinery or production lines, suggesting improvements or adjustments to enhance system reliability and reduce downtime. Safety & Quality Compliance: Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, particularly when working with high-precision machinery, hazardous materials, or complex assembly systems, prioritizing employee safety at all times. Conduct regular safety audits, ensuring that all equipment and personnel comply with safety standards and work in a hazard-free environment. Implement and monitor quality control checkpoints throughout the production cycle, ensuring that all components, whether for ammunition or small arms, meet the stringent quality requirements for functionality and durability. Equipment Maintenance Skills: Perform regular maintenance tasks on critical production machinery, including calibration, minor repairs, and setting adjustments to ensure machinery operates at maximum efficiency. Work with senior engineers to develop and implement a preventative maintenance schedule for high-use equipment, ensuring timely inspections and reducing the risk of production delays due to equipment failure. Identify and address maintenance needs before they cause operational issues, ensuring the production line runs smoothly and efficiently. Product Knowledge: Develop a comprehensive understanding of the materials and components used in the production of ammunition or small arms, ensuring that all raw materials meet production specifications. Support the production team in verifying that each part or component, from casings to firing mechanisms, is manufactured according to technical drawings and specifications. Ensure that all materials, including explosives, alloys, and composites, are stored and handled in accordance with safety and quality standards, maintaining product integrity at all stages. Process Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of production parameters, such as material usage, machine performance, and quality control data, contributing to transparent and traceable process documentation. Assist in preparing reports for internal use, including equipment performance data, production efficiency analyses, and quality test results, ensuring compliance with production standards. Track production data, ensuring that any variances in product output, machine cycles, or material usage are documented and reported to the appropriate departments for corrective actions. Task Execution & Efficiency: Perform specific engineering tasks within the production line, such as overseeing batch runs, calibrating machinery, or troubleshooting operational issues to ensure efficient production output. Focus on optimizing production flow by identifying opportunities to streamline tasks, reduce waste, and enhance overall production cycle times without compromising quality. Assist in balancing the workload across different production areas, ensuring that each task is completed according to set schedules, contributing to efficient production operations. Qualifications and Experience


    Educational Background: Diploma in Mechanical, Industrial, Production Engineering, or related disciplines. Work Experience: Min 4 years in production engineering, equipment setup, and process optimization. Industry Knowledge: Understanding of production processes, material handling, manufacturing systems, and lean principles. Exposure to automation tools and equipment preferred.
