Associate Counsel

The Lead Counsel I role at our organization is a mid-level position that involves offering legal guidance and thought leadership to the business. Your primary objective will be to provide legal support, advice, and guidance to various business functions. To excel in this role, you must be a pragmatic and proactive attorney with a deep understanding of the Business and a strong grasp of the laws and regulations governing the geographies in which we operate. You will play a key role in strategic decision-making by providing sound legal judgment and developing proactive, risk-appropriate, and commercially practical solutions. Your responsibilities will include negotiating and preparing various trading documentation such as ISDA Master Agreement, Global Master Repurchase Agreement, and Global Master Securities Lending Agreement, among others. You will also conduct due diligence to ensure the enforceability of agreements and compliance with relevant capital rules. Additionally, you will be responsible for coordinating deviation approvals, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements, providing legal support across different practice areas, and managing data inputting for trading documentation. Your role will also involve participating in global documentation regulatory projects and supporting AP Markets Legal Contract Management processes. Key Skills required for this role include excellent communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Word, teamwork, adaptability, negotiation skills, analytical abilities, organizational skills, and a comprehensive understanding of legal customs and practices in the financial services industry.
