Associate Application Engineer

Key Objectives

• Provide technical expertise on alkaline electrolyzer systems to support the proposal team at various enquiry stages.
• Interpret OEM documents, technical data, and know-how for accurate sizing, configuration, and solution development.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to gather technical inputs, align solution strategies, and ensure technically robust proposals.
• Ensure timely technical support, documentation, and deliverables to meet proposal timelines and customer expectations.
• Support proposal strategy by evaluating technical risks, assumptions, and boundary conditions.

Role & responsibilities

• Review and interpret customer enquiries, technical specifications, and data sheets related to alkaline electrolyzer plants.
• Provide detailed technical understanding on electrolyzer stack design, system configuration, gas separation unit, utilities, and balance of plant.
• Prepare technical clarifications, pre-bid queries, and participate in technical discussions or meetings with customers.
• Support the proposal team with system sizing, performance calculations, utility estimation, and preparation of technical deliverables.
• Evaluate OEM offerings, compare specifications, and support development of standardized technical solutions based on technology inputs.
• Develop technical documents for proposal support, compliance matrices, solution descriptions, and support cost estimation through accurate technical scoping.
• Coordinate with engineering, supply chain, R&D, and technology partners to ensure alignment of technical assumptions and solution details.
• Maintain a database of key technical learnings, OEM data, and system configurations to improve proposal quality and consistency.

Assist in risk assessment, technology due-diligence, and boundary-limit definition for proposals.

Preferred candidate profile

• Experience working with alkaline electrolyzer OEMs, system integrators, or hydrogen project teams.
• Strong understanding of alkaline electrolyzer technology and process, stack operation, associated balance of plant and system integration.
• Strong collaboration with proposal, engineering, sales, and technology teams.
• Technical communication and coordination skills with OEMs/partners.
• Experience in interpreting technical documents, P&IDs, GA drawings, and data sheets.
• Strong analytical capability for sizing, performance evaluation, and system configuration.
• Ability to manage multiple proposals and deliver quality outputs under tight timelines.
• Detail-oriented, structured, and capable of applying engineering judgment to proposals.
