Job Summary

The Department of English is seeking a dynamic and qualified individual for the role of Assistant Professor. The ideal candidate will teach undergraduate courses in English Literature, Language, and Communication; conduct research; and contribute to the academic and administrative objectives of the department and college.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lectures and lead discussions in undergraduate English courses
• Develop course materials, syllabi, lesson plans, and assessments aligned with curriculum standards
• Conduct internal assessments, design exam papers, and evaluate answer scripts
• Supervise students in academic projects, presentations, and extracurricular literary activities
• Undertake scholarly research and contribute to peer-reviewed publications
• Actively participate in departmental meetings, curriculum planning, and institutional events
• Mentor students in academic and career development
• Stay updated with trends in English language, literature, and pedagogy
• Perform additional academic and administrative tasks as assigned by the HOD/Principal

Qualifications

Essential

• Master’s Degree in English (M.A.)
• NET qualification or Ph.D. (preferred) as per UGC norms

Desirable

• Ph.D. in English or a related discipline
• Experience teaching at the undergraduate level
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals
• Proficiency with digital teaching tools and LMS platforms
