Assistant Professor - Architecture

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role for an Assistant Professor in Architecture at Chandigarh University. The Assistant Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, developing and revising curriculum, conducting research, and mentoring students in the fields of architectural design, landscape architecture, and interior design. Additional responsibilities include academic advising, participation in department meetings, and contribution to the university's academic community.

Key Responsibilities

• Teaching & Course Development:
• Deliver lectures and instruction for undergraduate and graduate architectural courses.
• Develop and design curriculum plans to stimulate student engagement.
• Prepare course materials, assignments, and assessments to evaluate student performance.
• Manage online course platforms (LMS) for content and delivery. 

• Student Mentoring & Support:
• Provide academic and career guidance to students.
• Offer tutoring and hold office hours to support student learning.
• Serve as a role model and mentor to guide students' professional and academic development. 

• Departmental & Institutional Service:
• Participate in departmental meetings and university-wide committees.
• Contribute to the institution's administrative tasks and programs.
• Support the university's efforts in community outreach and professional service. 

• Professional Development:
• Attend training sessions and professional meetings to stay informed about advancements in architecture.
• Engage in community and industry activities to promote the institution's mission. 

Qualifications

• Architectural Design and Architecture skills
• Experience in Research and Landscape Architecture
• Strong teaching and mentoring abilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in an on-site environment

• Ph.D. in Architecture or a related field is preferred

• Prior teaching experience in higher education is a plus
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills
