• Develop the short term and long-term strategy, policies and processes for the department in line with the overall organization business strategy and philosophy
• Support effective decision making by providing timely updates to IDMCs Board members on strategic aspects like financial metrics, short term and long-term financial planning, taxation impact, etc.
• Develop a systemic framework for proactively identifying, assessing various business and financial risks impacting the organization along with mitigation strategy for the same
• Keep abreast of changes in financial regulations (Corporate law, taxation policies etc.), and their implications for IDMC, ensure organization readiness for implementing changes, if any
• Plan and review systems and processes pertaining to insurance coverage of the IDMC’s assets, accounting practice and cash flow systems
• Plan the banking and taxation policies and procedures; review the same on a regular basis • Plan, review and ensure development / up-gradation of reimbursement systems, procedures & processes to cater to evolving business needs and enhancing organizational effectiveness • Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers in banks, investor bodies, regulatory bodies and other financial institutions Financial
• Develop the overall departmental budget along with the allocation to various activities; ensure adherence to same through periodic reviews • Identify deviations from the budget and take corrective actions, if required • Prepare annual manpower plan and budget for the department and monitor adherence to the same
• Collaborate with MD and Functional Heads to implement organization wide cost optimization programs and facilitate a cost-conscious culture • Liquidity and payment collection and reconciliation of customer accounts. Operational
• Develop the overall Organizational budget along with the allocation to various activities
• Review and reconcile the individual department budgets and present the overall organization budget to the MD and Board for discussion and approval
• Monitor the budgeting process for the organization and ensure adherence to internal guidelines in department budgets
• Drive the short term and long-term financial planning exercise for the company and facilitate financial target setting exercise for the Bus
• Oversee the preparation of yearly accounts (profit and loss statement and balance sheet) in line with statutory requirements and internal corporate guidelines
• Drive the review and analysis of various financial statements (Balance sheet and income statement) on a periodic basis and provide insights on key ratios
• Guide HoDs in taking corrective action in case of any deviations from the formulated departmental budget • Monitor achievement against set targets, cost of capital, and other metrics periodically for the business • Assist other functional heads and top management in making budget-related decisions; Counsel the leaders on financial matters as and when required • Drive the development and implementation of all financial policies & procedures for IDMC in compliance with the applicable financial and accounting standards • Build internal controls to ensure efficient working capital management and cash conversion cycle • Guide the Accounts, Budgeting, Costing & Audit team in design of systems and procedures for effective management of all accounting and cash flow activities • Oversee the development of Standard Operating Procedures on taxation related matters and design of systems and processes to ensure efficiency in tax planning • Undertake periodic tax planning exercises and carry out timely and comprehensive analysis of any changes in the tax framework to ensure tax optimization for the organization • Drive timely preparation of periodic (daily/ weekly/ monthly/ annual) performance reports against budgets for each site and business • Guide business teams in framing contractual terms and conditions to minimize financial risks arising out of a contractual obligation • Oversee working capital management of the organization to ensure adequate liquidity and financial health of the organization and availability of funds to meet various short-term commitments on a continuous basis • Ensure healthy liquidity and financial sustainability of the organization • Oversee the preparation and execution of product costing and cost control measures • Drive Corporate Governance norms and ensure transparency in all processes • Supervise adherence to statutory compliances and oversee timely and accurate preparation/ documentation/ maintenance of all books of accounts, reports, revenue contracts, invoices etc • Liaise with external legal experts / counsels, where required to provide guidance and advice People • Prepare the annual manpower plan for the department • Ensure that the department is adequately staffed as per the manpower requirements • Drive a culture of performance amongst subordinates – set goals, review and manage performance, guide and counsel and provide feedback on performance to ensure a motivated and committed team • Plan and ensure conduct of regular training programs for functional and other employees on various aspects pertaining to financial systems • Oversee training and capability building of employees of the department • Mentor and groom high-potential employees to ensure their career growth and succession readiness for key positions in the department • Monitor the performance of employees within the department and take necessary interventions to improve performance • Ensure high level of employee engagement and retention of critical employees • Foster an environment of learning, excellence and innovation within the team
