Job Description

Key Responsibilities: Welding Process Expertise: Oversee all aspects of welding processes, including pre-welding preparation, welding techniques, and post-welding inspection and treatment. Welding Procedure Development: Develop and maintain Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) and Procedure Qualification Records (PQR) in accordance with industry standards. Quality Control: Ensure the quality of welds meets established standards and specifications through inspection, testing, and review of welding records. Team Management: Supervise and mentor welding technicians and staff, providing training, guidance, and performance feedback. Resource Management: Manage welding equipment, consumables, and other resources to ensure efficient and cost-effective operation. Project Management: Support project managers in planning, scheduling, and executing welding-related tasks for valve production. Vendor Management: Evaluate and select welding vendors for outsourced work, ensuring quality and timely delivery. Safety Compliance: Implement and maintain safety procedures and protocols within the welding shop to ensure a safe working environment. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve welding quality. Compliance: Compliance with ISO, API, ASME, AWS procedures and guidelines. Skills and Qualifications: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Welding Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (AWS) (IWE) or Certified Welding Engineer Experience: Proven experience in welding operations, preferably in a manufacturing environment, with a focus on valve production. Technical Skills: Expertise in various welding processes (e.g., MIG, TIG, SMAW), welding symbols, and engineering drawings. Quality Control: Knowledge of quality control procedures, inspection techniques, and relevant standards. Leadership and Management: Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills to effectively manage a team. Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze welding problems, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with welding software and project management tools.
