Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Field-based Assistant Sales Manager to lead our on-ground sales, farmer engagement, and local marketing initiatives. This pivotal role involves direct interaction with dairy farmers, milk unions, and various rural partners to significantly increase the adoption of silage and drive consistent repeat sales within assigned territories. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, a natural leader, and deeply passionate about improving the livelihoods of dairy farmers through superior feed solutions. Key Responsibilities: On-Ground Sales & Target Achievement: Develop and execute aggressive field sales strategies to achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for silage products. Identify and convert new business opportunities within the dairy farming community, focusing on areas with high potential for silage adoption. Manage the sales pipeline from lead generation to closure, ensuring efficient follow-ups and reporting. Farmer Engagement & Education: Conduct direct outreach to individual dairy farmers, farmer groups, and cooperative societies to understand their current feed practices and educate them on the benefits of silage (e.g., improved milk yield, better cattle health, year-round fodder availability, cost savings). Organize and lead farmer meetings, demonstration camps, and awareness programs to showcase the value and practical application of silage. Build strong, trust-based relationships with farmers, acting as a reliable advisor for their feed and fodder needs. Rural Partner & Milk Union Collaboration: Establish and nurture strong relationships with key stakeholders, including local milk unions, dairy cooperatives, village-level entrepreneurs, and agricultural input dealers. Collaborate with milk unions to integrate silage promotion into their farmer outreach programs and leverage their networks for wider adoption. Identify and onboard new rural distribution partners to expand market reach and ensure product availability. Local Marketing & Brand Building: Implement localized marketing activities to increase brand awareness and product visibility within the farming community. Gather market intelligence on competitor activities, farmer feedback, and emerging trends to inform sales and marketing strategies. Collect success stories and testimonials from adopting farmers to be used in promotional materials. Repeat Sales & Retention: Develop strategies to ensure high repeat sales and build long-term loyalty among existing customers. Provide excellent post-sales support, addressing farmer queries and ensuring satisfaction with silage quality and delivery. Reporting & Analysis: Maintain accurate records of sales activities, farmer interactions, and market feedback using designated reporting tools. Prepare and submit regular sales reports, forecasts, and performance analyses to the Sales Manager. Monitor market trends and provide insights for product development and strategic planning.
