Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Quality Assurance & Control:

  • Monitor and ensure compliance of in-process and finished products with quality parameters (microbiological, chemical, organoleptic).
  • Oversee routine inspection and quality checks at raw material, processing, packaging, and dispatch stages.
  • Coordinate with production teams to implement GMP, GHP, and HACCP practices.
  • Address non-conformances and initiate corrective & preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Ensure traceability and documentation of batch manufacturing records.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure product and label compliance with FSSAI, Legal Metrology, and other applicable Indian/international food regulations.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation for FSSAI licensing, renewal, and product approvals.
  • Liaise with regulatory authorities for audits, inspections, and new product approvals.
  • Review product artwork and labeling claims from a regulatory standpoint.

Audits & Certifications:

  • Assist in internal and external audits (FSSAI, ISO 22000, BRC, USFDA, etc.).
  • Support implementation and maintenance of food safety and quality management systems.
  • Prepare SOPs, manuals, and inspection reports as per certification requirements.

Vendor & Raw Material Management:

  • Support vendor audits and evaluation for raw material and packaging material suppliers.
  • Ensure compliance of raw material specifications, and coordinate for COAs (Certificates of Analysis).

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Sound knowledge of FSSAI, Codex, BRC, ISO 22000, HACCP standards.
  • Familiar with food microbiology, food chemistry, shelf-life studies, and sensory evaluation.
  • Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication and documentation handling.
  • Hands-on with MS Office and quality management software/tools.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc in Food Technology, Food Science, Microbiology, or related.
  • 47 years of experience in Quality & Regulatory roles in the FMCG food industry (preferably Spices, Pickles, Condiments sector).

Preferred Industries:

  • FMCG companies dealing in spices, pickles, chutneys, sauces, condiments, processed foods.
