Description
You will be responsible for managing the overall plant quality system and product testing on-site. You may also supervise Quality Technicians. As the Assistant Manager, Quality, you will set the long-range global vision of quality, drive business unit quality improvement initiatives, oversee ISO management and compliance, and manage the customer complaint process. **Responsibilities:** - Ensure that manufacturing-related processes are in control and that all products meet the end-use customer requirements. - Monitor and control process conditions for product consistency according to specified conditions. - Ensure products and process changes are made according to the specified sequence of activities. - Oversee testing in accordance with the Avient Lab Performance Policy and ensure accurate and timely product grading. - Represent the plant and Avient in professional dealings with customers, the technology community, and the commercial group. - Resolve and communicate customer complaints and handle technical and quality questions. - Lead the quality team, provide training to lab/production employees, and instil quality knowledge and process adherence. - Perform ongoing assessments of quality system effectiveness. - Develop a long-range vision based on performance gaps, emerging customer requirements, and external benchmarking. - Manage customer complaints, develop and maintain global quality metrics, and implement root cause analysis processes. - Manage central certifications (i.e., ISO) and ensure all sites meet the standard. - Evaluate and monitor external customer quality audits, interface with senior leaders, and provide guidance on improving quality systems and product quality. **Qualifications:** - **Education:** - Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience completed - Certified Lean Six Sigma or KAIZEN Leader - Certified Lead Auditor of Quality Management System - **Experience:** - Cross Functional - Leadership Experience: 10+ Years - Cross Functional - Managing Direct Reports: 10+ Years - Cross Functional - Manufacturing Industry: 10+ Years - Manufacturing - Safety Procedures: 10+ Years - Manufacturing - Manufacturing Operations: 10+ Years - Cross Functional - Problem Solving Techniques: 10+ Years - **Skills And Certifications:** - Personal Skills - Stress Management: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Statistical Skills: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Reading/Comprehension: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Self Motivated: Intermediate - Software Skills - Microsoft Office: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Analytical Skills: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Time/Priority Management: Intermediate - Software Skills - Microsoft Outlook: Intermediate - Software Skills - Microsoft Word: Intermediate - Software Skills - Microsoft Excel: Intermediate - Software Skills - SAP: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Work on a Team: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Organizational Skills: Intermediate - Personal Skills - Conflict Resolution Skills: Intermediate **Physical Demands:** - Regularly required to stand, use hands, and reach with hands and arms. - Frequently required to walk. - Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear. - Occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. - Occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals, and fumes or airborne particles. - Noise level in the work environment ranges from normal office noise levels to loud.,
