Position Overview

The Purchase Executive will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring raw materials, consumables, and indirect items required for the flexible packaging plant. The role requires strong vendor management, cost optimization, and coordination skills to ensure uninterrupted supply while meeting quality and cost targets.

Key Responsibilities

1. Procurement & Sourcing

• Handle procurement of raw materials (films, laminates, inks, adhesives, solvents, spouts, zipper, etc.).
• Source consumables, spare parts, and indirect items required for pouching, printing, and lamination processes.
• Evaluate and develop reliable vendors for cost, quality, and timely supply.
• Track and maintain minimum stock levels as per production requirements.

2. Vendor Management

• Negotiate prices, credit terms, and contracts with suppliers.
• Develop alternate vendors to mitigate supply risk.
• Ensure supplier compliance with quality, delivery timelines, and documentation.
• Build long-term relationships with strategic suppliers.

3. Cost Control & Compliance

• Ensure competitive procurement to reduce costs and improve margins.
• Monitor market trends and raw material price fluctuations.
• Adhere to company’s procurement policies, ISO/BRC standards, and audit requirements.

4. Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with production, planning, and stores to ensure uninterrupted material availability.
• Ensure proper documentation – purchase orders, GRN, vendor bills, agreements, etc.
• Maintain ERP/MIS reports for tracking purchase status and costs.

Key Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of flexible packaging raw materials (BOPP, PET, PE, CPP, adhesives, inks, cylinders, etc.).
• Strong negotiation and vendor development skills.
• Understanding of supply chain dynamics and inventory management.
• Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP systems (SAP / Oracle / Tally / etc.).

Qualifications & Experience

• Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain, Materials Management, or Engineering (preferred).
• 2–5 years of purchase experience, preferably in the flexible packaging or plastics industry.
• Exposure to vendor negotiations and raw material procurement.

• Cost savings achieved through negotiations and sourcing.
• On-time availability of materials for production.
• Vendor performance (delivery, quality, service).
• Inventory turnover and working capital management.
• Compliance with procurement policies and audit standards.
