Assistant Manager / Deputy Manager - Taxation

Role & responsibilities

• Tax Compliance - Both direct and Indirect taxation including Income Tax and GST
• Filing of various statutory returns and challans for tax payments
• Preparation and filing of various tax returns in compliance with tax laws
• Providing guidance on tax related matters including implication of transactions and potential risks, if any
• Coordinating and managing tax audits, responding to queries / inquiries from tax authorities and providing necessary documentation
• Assisting in creating and updating tax PnL
• Facilitate and manage the timely preparation and review of all Direct & Indirect tax and transfer pricing compliances including advance tax, tax provision, documentation, audits and assessments. Implementation of new tax compliances such as Pillar 1 & 2. Ensure accurate, timely filing of corporate tax returns, master file, CbCR, statements and submissions. Closely coordinate with the accounts and reporting team in compiling the tax submissions and documentation (In coordination with tax consultants)
• Facilitate requisite documents and submissions for assessment proceedings, timely filing of appeals and briefing of tax counsels. Preparation of submissions, charts and compilations for the appeal hearings before the CIT(A), ITAT, CESTAT, High Court, Supreme Court, etc (In coordination with tax consultants)
• Identify and Implement process improvements in the tax compliance activities, digitalization of tax process and documentation. Ensure 100% adherence to compliance calendar and tax MIS system

Preferred candidate profile

• CA with good academic track and experience of 7 to 10 years in attending to tax matters in large corporate(s) or Big CA Firm
• Good command on Direct and/or Indirect tax laws, knowledge of proposed tax regulations
• Experience in reporting to senior management
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, process-oriented mind-set
• Self-motivated individual with ability to fast learn and excel, a good team player
• High degree of professional ethics and integrity
