Assistant Manager, Chief Accounting & Capital Office

Responsible for supporting for statutory audit requirements and related queries. Providing and reconciling data for external Actuarial requirements. End to end Preparation(CDCA) review and resolving query of Ceded data breakup for all reinsurer accounts on quarterly basis. Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. Robust understanding of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and accounting principles.

What youll be DOING

What will your essential responsibilities include?

• Preparation of schedules for quarterly and yearly regulatory return as per APRA for Australian insurance entity.
• Preparation of Pre-close Journals for China and Brazil BU and Australia BU along with preparation of reconciliations of the same to ensure entries are posted correctly
• End to end Preparation(CDCA) review and resolving query of Ceded data breakup for all reinsurer accounts on quarterly basis.
• Responsible for supporting for statutory audit requirements and related queries.
• Providing and reconciling data for external Actuarial requirements on quarterly basis.
• Processing and reconciliation of all accounted data balances.
• Posting/reconciling of the JEs (if required) from CORE to Local ledger for reporting and reconciliation.
• Compile data and perform financial analysis to ensure data completeness and accuracy in P&L and Balance Sheet between underwriting and financial accounting system.
• Maintain accuracy in both Core and Local ledgers and provide support to all work papers.
• Oversee expense management and good oversight of accrual, prepayment, recharge and intercompany balances.
• Resolve any intercompany differences historical as well incremental for Australia entity.
• Prepare other regulatory and ad-hoc reports and disclosures for management as identified.
• End to end Preparation review and resolving query of Ceded data breakup for all reinsurer accounts on quarterly basis
• Automation/Standardization of processes as applicable
• Provide any adhoc support to finance team requests covering analysis and reporting purposes.

• CA/CPA with relevant years of experience
• Robust understanding of financial statements, balance sheet reconciliation, and accounting principles.
• Experience with financial systems and data reconciliation processes.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work resiliently and collaboratively within a team.
• Insurance/reinsurance experience is preferable.
