Assistant General Manager

Job Summary

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) Civil Projects will oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of residential and commercial construction projects. The role involves leading project teams, coordinating with consultants and contractors, ensuring quality standards, and maintaining adherence to budgets and timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and manage all civil construction activities for assigned projects from design to handover.
• Review project drawings, specifications, and BOQs to ensure compliance with design standards and client requirements.
• Coordinate with architects, consultants, vendors, and contractors for timely project execution.
• Monitor project progress through site visits, progress reports, and review meetings.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality, safety, and environmental standards across all sites.
• Prepare and track project budgets, cost forecasts, and resource planning.
• Identify design or execution challenges and proactively resolve them with suitable engineering solutions.
• Manage project documentation, including contracts, vendor bills, and progress certifications.
• Lead and mentor project engineers, site supervisors, and other technical staff.
• Report on project performance, risks, and opportunities to higher management.

Qualifications and Skills

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Masters degree preferred).
• 4 to 10 years of experience in managing large-scale residential and commercial projects.
• Proven track record in handling multiple projects and leading cross-functional teams.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, project management tools, and safety norms.
• Proficiency in MS Project, AutoCAD, and other project tracking systems.
• Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
• Ability to handle contractors, suppliers, and internal teams efficiently.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in high-rise residential housing or mixed-use commercial developments.
• Familiarity with government norms, quality audits, and approval procedures.
• Exposure to sustainable or green building projects will be an advantage.
