Assistant General Manager (AGM) - Procurement

The Assistant General Manager (AGM) Procurement supports the General Manager in managing departmental operations, driving strategic initiatives, and ensuring seamless execution of procurement activities. The role involves overseeing procurement of industrial equipment, managing budgets, ensuring compliance, and maintaining strong stakeholder relationships. The AGM acts as second-in-command, stepping into the GMs role when required, while ensuring operational excellence and timely project delivery.

Role & responsibilities

• Define strategic goals and objectives for procurement aligned with organizational priorities.
• Oversee budgeting, financial planning, and resource allocation.
• Lead and monitor performance of departmental heads and senior managers.
• Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, clients, and vendors.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and legal regulations.
• Assist GM in formulating and executing procurement strategies.
• Monitor departmental activities to ensure alignment with strategic goals.
• Support teams in problem-solving and conflict resolution.
• Coordinate cross-departmental initiatives and projects.
• Prepare reports and presentations for GM and senior leadership.
• Supervise day-to-day procurement operations.
• Analyze operational data and propose improvements.
• Act as liaison between GM and departmental teams.
• Ensure timely delivery of project milestones and outputs.
