Assistant Fashion Designer

As a Fashion Designer at Alka Hari, you will play a crucial role in translating the ethos of quiet luxury into sophisticated and wearable garments that align with our brand's vision. Your responsibilities will include: - Concept Development: - Create seasonal mood boards, color palettes, and inspiration references that resonate with the brand's identity and customer profile. - Design Execution: - Design and sketch womenswear pieces focusing on clean lines, luxurious fabrics, and impeccable tailoring. - Fabric & Trim Selection: - Source high-quality, sustainable materials and trims that meet the brand's luxury standards. - Technical Development: - Collaborate with pattern makers and sample rooms to develop prototypes with precision in fit, drape, and construction. - Collection Development: - Curate cohesive collections with strong narratives and commercial viability, balancing creativity with wearability. - Trend & Market Research: - Stay updated on global fashion trends, consumer behavior, and emerging materials while maintaining a timeless aesthetic. - Cross-functional Collaboration: - Partner with production, merchandising, and marketing teams to ensure design integrity throughout the product development process. Qualifications required for this role include: - Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field. - 3+ years of experience in designing womenswear, preferably in luxury or contemporary brands. - Strong portfolio showcasing minimalist, elevated womenswear designs. - Excellent knowledge of garment construction, tailoring, and draping. - Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with 3D design tools is a plus. - Keen eye for detail, proportion, and fabric behavior. - Deep understanding of the quiet luxury space and refined design sensibility. - Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
