Job Description

Responsible for driving the IC & Automation business in Pune and parts of Maharashtra region for LAPP by designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands company's partner base and ensure its strong presence.

Role & responsibilities

  • Sales Target Achievement:

    Align with company processes to meet sales targets in the assigned territory.
  • Sales Activity Execution:

    Plan and execute sales activities as per the Sales Effectiveness Program set by LAPP. Hands-on experience with CRM systems, particularly SFDC, is preferred.
  • Quotation Generation:

    Learn LAPP processes on an ad-hoc basis to independently generate quotations that align with customer requirements.
  • Forecasting:

    Provide accurate and consistent month-on-month forecasts for order bookings, revenue, and payment collections.
  • Dealer Advising:

    Advise dealers on policies and operating procedures to ensure business effectiveness, in collaboration with the Channel Management team.
  • Solution Offering:

    Offer solutions based on customer needs and applications to enhance cross-selling and upselling opportunities.
  • Market Feedback:

    Provide management with updates on market trends and competition dynamics.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    Work with internal cross-functional teams such as finance, operations, engineering, and product management as needed.
  • Account Management:

    Develop account management plans for key customers.
  • Business Development:

    Drive business growth through LAPP strategic initiatives, including improving industrial communication products, harness solutions (OLFLEX Connect), and securing rate contracts with customers.
  • Representation:

    Represent LAPP India at trade association meetings and promote products.
  • Be the Brand ambassador.
  • Be an expert on LAPP technology from a technical and functional perspective, including the ability to effectively position and present its characteristics and benefits.
  • Identify needed resources for supporting sales strategy and develop a proposed budget for management review.

Preferred candidate profile

  • Minimum of 6-12 years of specific experience in sales and business development in automation, electrical / cable industry with experience in leading large number of Customers preferably in Automation, OEMs, Industrial Projects etc.
  • Bachelors degree in the field of electrical, automation or electronics engineering or a related field. Management degree is an added advantage.
  • Good product & application knowledge w.r.t. electrical, automation / cable industry (Eg. Sensors, PLCs, I/O systems, IoT devices, switchgear, cables, drag chain, cable harness).
