Job Description

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, enhance, and maintain applications on the AS/400 platform using
RPGLE
,
SQLRPGLE
, and
Free Format RPG
.
Analyse and understand business requirements, particularly related to
life insurance domain
and
policy lifecycle
processes.
Customize and configure
SMART400
modules as per client specifications.
Support and modernize legacy code, ensuring high performance and maintainability.
Write and optimize
DB2/400 SQL queries
, manage logical and physical files.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams for integration, testing, and deployment.
Provide production support, bug fixes, and troubleshoot issues efficiently.
Work with
LIFEASIA
, SMART400 product configurations, and pre-defined setups.
Document technical solutions and maintain coding standards.

Required Skills & Experience

5 to 8 years of hands-on experience in
AS/400 (iSeries) development
.
Strong programming skills in:

RPGLE
(Fixed and Free Format)
SQLRPGLE
CL/400
DB2/400

Experience in:

Working with
SMART400
and/or
LIFEASIA
Insurance or financial services domain, especially
Life Insurance

Proficient in handling
modular programming
,
sub procedures
,
service programs
, and
binding directories
.
Understanding of
SDLC
,
Agile
, or
Waterfall methodologies
.
Good debugging, impact analysis, and problem-solving skills.
