Job Title: ARG Welder / GTAW Welder / TIG Welder / Argon Welder / Welder Fabricator (if applicable) Department: Production / Fabrication / Manufacturing / Maintenance Reports To: Production Supervisor / Fabrication Manager / Workshop Manager / Lead Welder Location: Nashik, Maharashtra, India (This is a hands-on role performed in a workshop or factory setting). Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and certified ARG Welder to perform precision welding operations on various materials using the Argon Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) process at our facility in Nashik. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in producing high-quality, defect-free welds on [ Specify Materials, e.g., stainless steel, aluminum, carbon steel, thin gauge metals ] for [ Specify Products/Components, e.g., pressure vessels, pipelines, automotive parts, machinery frames, intricate assemblies ]. This role is critical for ensuring the structural integrity, aesthetics, and performance of our manufactured products. Key Responsibilities: Welding Operations: Perform Argon Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW/TIG) on various types of metals, including [ mention specific metals like Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Copper, etc. ] and their alloys, as per engineering drawings, welding procedures specifications (WPS), and industry standards. Set up and operate TIG welding equipment, including adjusting current, voltage, gas flow, and selecting appropriate electrodes and filler materials. Prepare workpieces by cleaning, grinding, chamfering, and fitting components accurately prior to welding. Maintain proper arc control, heat input, and shielding gas coverage to achieve high-quality, uniform, and aesthetically pleasing welds with excellent penetration. Perform welding in various positions (e.g., flat, horizontal, vertical, overhead) as required. Quality Control & Inspection: Visually inspect welds for defects such as cracks, porosity, undercut, lack of fusion, and distortion. Ensure welds meet specified quality standards, dimensional accuracy, and adhere to blueprint specifications. Perform basic in-process quality checks and report any non-conformities to the supervisor. Equipment Maintenance & Safety: Clean, maintain, and troubleshoot TIG welding equipment, torches, and accessories regularly. Ensure proper functioning of welding machines and associated safety equipment. Strictly adhere to all safety regulations, company policies, and best practices for welding operations (e.g., proper ventilation, use of PPE like welding masks, gloves, safety shoes, flame-retardant clothing). Maintain a clean and organized workstation and welding area. Material Handling & Preparation: Identify and select appropriate base metals, filler rods, and shielding gases based on project requirements. Assist in cutting, grinding, and shaping metal components using various tools as per fabrication needs. Documentation & Reporting: Record details of work performed, materials consumed, and time taken for specific jobs. Report any equipment malfunctions, material defects, or safety incidents to the supervisor.
